FAQs

Q) How do I get started?

A) I offer a 15-minute free phone consultation. You can schedule this consultation session by email (bitna@purplestonecounseling.com) or by phone call (512-200-7335). You can discuss your needs and explore whether I am a good fit for you. Looking forward to having a conversation with you!

Q) Do you take insurance?

A) Yes, I accept Aetna (Including Aetna CVS, Aetna HMO) and Optum (UnitedHealthcare, Oscar, and Oxford) in TX and VA.

I will be considered an out-of-network provider for individuals who have different insurance than Aetna or Optum in VA or TX. In that case, I can provide an itemized receipt which you can use to submit to your insurance company.

Q) Do you offer a sliding scale?

A) Yes!! I offer limited spots for sliding scale options for self-pay clients. If you are interested in this option, please let me know. I am happy to discuss this further.

Q) What methods of payment do you accept?

A) I accept credit cards, cash, or HSA/FSA account.

Q) What should I know about my first session?

A) You will receive an invitation link to a client portal once you are scheduled. Through the link, you will be asked to complete the necessary paperwork before the first session. It would be helpful if you could fill those documents out one day prior to our session so that I can review them beforehand.

Q) Cancellation policy

A) If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. A full session fee/ insurance contracted fee (not co-pay) will be charged for cancellations made within 24 hours of the session. However, I understand that unexpected things can happen, so I offer two free late cancellations per calendar year for cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment. These can be used for any reason, such as sudden illness or urgent work meetings. If you miss an appointment without notifying me in advance, you will be charged the full fee. In this situation, your free cancellation credit cannot be used.

Due to the nature of private practice, it is challenging to fill the slot at the last minute. This policy is not intended to punish you. A collaborative and respectful therapist-client relationship is essential.

Should you have any concerns, please feel free to contact me.

If you are in crisis during those days, call 911, text Crisis Text Line at 741-741, or call the Austin Helpline at 512-472-4357 (HELP).
